Over 120 veterans, including some who fought in World War II, and others who fought in the most recent Iraq and Afghan wars, were honored on Friday, November 6th at the 9th Annual Todd County Central Veterans Day Ceremony.  With over 1200 people in attendance, three WWII veterans from Todd County: Bryan Blount, Warren Sanders, and Henry Malone along with over 100 other Veterans in attendance, were led into the gym to be honored by the student body and members of the community.

Major Jason Jones of Fort Campbell’s 130th Field Artillery Unit, was the keynote speaker, and urged everyone to not let this holiday pass without reflecting on the price paid by veterans for freedom.

Todd County Central Principal, Jennifer Pope, reminded the crowd that the country’s most valuable tool in defending liberty has been and remains the men and women of the military.

Outstanding service awards were presented to Ed Oyler, Joe Nell Waters, and Patty Glover for their dedication in making the annual program possible.

The Fort Campbell Honor Guard was on hand to present the colors, the TCCHS band played a selection of patriotic numbers and the local Navy Recruiters performed a flag folding ceremony for the crowd.
