Overview

In this course you will read short stories, poems, plays, and other types of nonfiction. This work comes from a broad range of periods and cultures. As you read and analyze the literature, you will become more skilled interpreters of literature and the world in which we live.

Goals

Students will be able to read and understand text from the classwork and be able to apply it to real life situation.

Requirements

Appropriate grade level reading is required for this course.

Evaluation

Daily discussions on readings, quizzes, drawings, and short essays. Keeping up with reading assignments is crucial. Most of the readings will take place in the classroom so if you need to miss a day, you will be expected to catch up with the class.
